It’s a sad fact that blood is typically in short supply in the spring months at the Red Cross and other blood donation centers. Why? There are many reasons like people need more blood in the winter, donors do not want to travel to donate blood in the winter, or there are less blood drives in the winter months. Whatever the reason, the need is still there and Williams Bros. Health Care encourages you to donate blood this spring to help those in need. March is Red Cross Month, so we are bringing you information about giving blood in honor of this special month.
The Red Cross has been around serving those who need blood for over 100 years. Did you know that the Red Cross receives nearly 11 million donors each year? That’s a lot of blood!!
If you are looking to give blood in this area, Williams Bros. Health Care has great news for you. The local Red Cross chapter of Indianapolis is close for many and willing to take donations or to refer you to a donation site in your area. The best part of donating locally is that your blood will go back directly in the community and you will be helping local people just like you and maybe even people you know.
Why do people donate blood? Here are a few reasons:
- Some people give blood because we were asked by a friend.
- Some people that a family member or a friend might need blood someday.
- Some donors give blood because of a disaster in the area.
- Some of us give blood because it is important to other people’s well-being and health.
- Some donors believe it is the right thing to do.
Williams Bros. Health Care encourages you to start the year off right by giving back and saving a life. If you have never donated, this is your year! Take a friend with you for moral support. If you have given blood in the past, thank you for the lives you have saved. Williams Bros. Health Care cares about our communities!Tags: Give Blood, Indianapolis, Red Cross, Williams Bros. Heath Care
